Road Trip of the Year!

Hot Rod magazine featured a story about an incredible road trip in the November, 2007 issue. It was a 7-Day ride that started in Cleveland, OH and ended in Little Rock, AR. Here are the numbers according to Hot Rod: 4,551 registered cars overall, 1,323 cars and 2,350 people driving the entire 1,425 miles, and 68,000 spectators. This was the 15th running of the Power Tour (registered) in the last 13 years.

This event started in 1995 as a standard crew trip and readers were invited as well. A number of readers attended the first event and 12 cars drove the entire way from Los Angeles to Norwalk, OH. Apparently a cult was born: the Long Haulers (trademark), these cars cruise the distance and hit 200-300 miles a day. Stopping each night for a big party is the way these motorheads finish the ride.

What an awesome event. The Power Tour (trademark) schedule for 2008 is as follows:

June 7, Little Rock, Ar

June 8, Springfield, MO

June 9, Topeka, KS

June 10, Lincoln, NE

June 11, Ames, IA

June 12, Rochester, MN

June 13-14, Madison, WI
