Proud of your ride? We haven’t even seen it yet, but we can still say we don’t blame you. Whatever you’ve done, you’ve taken a mass-produced or robot-assembled vehicle and turned it in to a hand-worked, one-of-a-kind expression of your automotive passion.

Post your car and development story on our site! Share your passion with your “brothers-in-rodz.” Be sure to include key words for your blog in the “Labels” box when you post — that way RodzReaders will be able to find you and your post!

Orcas Island-Memorial Day Weekend 2009

What a rare time for a Memorial Day weekend in the Pacific Northwest. Mantis can't remember the last weekend that produced blue skies, sun and even heat over this holiday. Can you? Getting to an island by ferry boat or seaplane is a real trip. Waiting in line for the sailing-coming or going-is a real treat over a long holiday weekend. Orcas Island is worth the trip-rain or shine. Mantis was on the hunt for cars, but only ran into a few (cool rodz though). Mantis ran into a couple of British cars as well.

It's "Show Time!"

Mantis Rodz has 10 minutes to unload the "Praying Mantis" off the trailer and get it on the floor before the gates go down. The crew makes it happen-it's a miracle-and the Seattle Roadster Show is on! Thanks to the guys for giving the Mantis team a hand!

"SHARKABAKER"

Here is a before and after picture of the car known as: "SHARKABAKER"...

This name is derived by the owner/builder: "SHARKY", and the fact that it is a "STUDEBAKER"..., by the way "Sharky"' has more artwork on this site, and has been involved with the design of our "MantisRodz" logo and his rendition of our site mascot "The Praying Mantis" a (55 chev gasser wagon)... More of Sharky's artwork can be found in our "Gearbag" section, and hopefully more to come. As you can see from his incredible artwork, Sharky is a very gifted artist, and has created a "Very-Cool" rendition of his car. This type of artwork, this look and feel, is what this site is all about. We need to have fun with our "Ridz". Sharky is a member of the "Procrastinators" car club out of Everett, Wa. Thanks Sharky! Mantis is sure that Studebaker enthusiasts belong to the Studebaker Drivers Club.

This is a sweet cherry red, '67, Step-side, hot rod, pick-up. It has a beautiful hardwood bed - and check out that great dash. He picked up this little baby "just for kicks," he says. This ride sits in the garage next to his '29 Ford Roadster show car, a '40 Ford Coupe, and the '34 Ford Pick-up he is working on. Chuck sure knows how to have fun.
